The first New Music Friday of June has truly blessed our playlist. With albums coming from Vince Staples, Malcolm Todd, Apollo Red, and Navy Blue, additional longform ventures from Freddie Gibbs and Joji, and return singles from Tinashe, Steve Lacy, and Shaboozey, this summer seems to be shaping up to be a good one – sonically, that is.
Marking Vince Staples' sixth studio opus – and first as an independent artist – comes Cry Baby. The 10-track project features singles "Blackberry Marmalade," "White Flag," and "Cotton," culminating in a confrontational, genre-blurring commentary on the current state of affairs in our country.
Last week, Freddie Gibbs surprised us with the three-track RBT EP, and this week, he's gracing us with more new music. He's doubled back on his legendary You Only Die 1nce LP, extending it to its deluxe version and tacking on some new tracks for DSPs.
In the middle of the week, pgLang caught many of us mid-scroll when the Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free-led imprint announced not only the signing of new artist Imani Imani, but the simultaneous drop of her debut album, Papercuts by way of the record label.
Sage Elsesser's sonic alias Navy Blue has lifted the veil on Sir Render, the latest chapter in his immersive creative worldbuilding. The album features contributions from Earl Sweatshirt, Armand Hammer, Mike Shabb, and the late Ka, alongside production from The Alchemist, Jason Wool and Shungu.
After catching Malcolm Todd at Madison Square Garden this past week for a surprise appearance during Don Toliver's OCTANE show, we had to tap into his new album. Clocking in at 13 songs, Do That Again is out now.
While Joji's Piss in the Wind is still in our rotation, the enigmatic Hypebeast Magazine star is already expanding upon his recent Piss in the Wind project. The musician added on a handful of new tracks to a second disk, with assistance coming from Anyma and THE KID LAROI.
Preceded by “Duro” with Young Miko, “Smoke” with ISOxo, and “Thistle” with Blawan, Randomer, and MC Dricka, comes Skrillex's SOMA album. The high-speed, heart-pumping project also features Feid.
Bolstered by bars from OsamaSon, Destroy Lonely and Homixide Gang, Demon Heart Mixtape signals Apollo Red's first project of 2026.
Dahi got the whole gang together for his new track "Find Me," elevated by guest verses from both Moses Sumney and Mez.
For her first new material in over two years, Tinashe has dropped off "Too Easy," the track that saw its live premiere back in April during her DJ set at Coachella’s Do LaB.
If you're not tapped in with Natanya, now is the time to tap in. And her new single "CANDYLAND!" is a perfect place to start.
One of the best cuts on Anysia Kym and Tony Seltzer's Purity collab project is "To Death," so it was only right that fellow 10k affiliate 454 hop on for the official remix.
The dynamic duo is back. Harkening back to their The Cave days, Rico Nasty and Kenny Beats – sorry, Kenneth Blume – are now back in action with new high-octane single "Rituals." Hopefully it's the start of something longer-form...
With her self-titled sophomore album, AMA, slated to land in two New Music Fridays from now, Ama has given us another glimpse into the album with "Holding Back."
As Wiki's new album gets closer, the New York City emcee is holding nothing back in the rollout phase. Following up "Park" is the second new single from his imminent LP, "Right Away."
Big Whack is back. And it’s just the beginning. In preparation for her new album, WHACK’S MUSEUM, dropping on Juneteenth, Tierra Whack has revealed the record’s lead single “WAX PAPER.”
On the heels of "linknb" and a global tour announcement, Kelela continues to gear up for her return to the stage. The latest sign of life from New Avatar? "Point Blank," which focuses on "men's ability to self-regulate."
After casually confirming his Oh Yeah album is dropping the same day as Syd's Beard – July 17, but who's counting – Steve Lacy has lifted the veil on the latest single from his forthcoming project. Dubbed "the feeling," the track marks Lacy's first semblance of new music since last year's "Nice Shoes."
Our favorite cowboy is back on the scene with new cut "Cowgirl." Shaboozey's new single comes accompanied by a cinematic new music video, starring none other than Love Island star Ciara Miller.
For his first single of the year, nate sib has presented "Let You Go," which also arrives as his first solo work since last summer’s EP for us.
