Asheville, NC-based band The Silver Doors captivate with an eclectic rock appeal on their self-titled album. “Redeemer” opens the album with a climactic allure, as a folk-forward mystique develops quickly into a debonair rock expanse with string-laden flair. Thunderous pulses of guitar accelerate into the questioning vocals — “have you seen her? she’s my redeemer,” — as the ardent composure continues throughout. The subsequent “Losing Hand” delivers a more eerie appeal to start; lonesome strings and moody bass venture thereafter into a rollicking rock charisma. The opening one-two punch to The Silver Doors impress with their evolving, fervent qualities.
Moving through the album, strong songwriting and a compelling rock-friendly passion take hold. The shout-y vocals and slabs of guitar on “Bulletteeth” showcase an addictive vigor, while “Gone” is a gorgeously soaring success with its range from dreamy folk to anthemic rock.
