Overmono Gets Glitchy on Remix The Streets’ 2002 “Turn the Page”

Published: April 25, 2024

Overmono has dropped a remix of The Streets’ 2002 single “Turn the Page.” The original version of the song from the Birmingham grime group is already fast-paced but Overmono’s version picks up the pace, making it more akin to a grungy club track.

“Streets riding high with the beats in the sky / All stare, eyes glazed, garage burnt down,” Mike Skinner raps, now with a glitchy beat backing him up. “The fire raged for forty days and in forty ways / But through the blaze they see it fade.”

The remix arrives a year after Overmono, the techno duo of brothers Tom and Ed Russell, released its debut LP Good Lies. Since then, they’ve put out a string of singles, including “Freedom 2” with Kwengface and Joy Orbison and “stayinit” with Lil Yachty and Fred again..

The “Turn the Page” remix made its debut during a 2022 live set at Lost Village Festival and fans have been begging them to release it onto streaming ever since.

Listen to Overmono’s remix of The Streets’ “Turn the Page” everywhere now.
