Bladee Drops Gritty Surprise Mixtape 'Cold Visions'

Published: April 23, 2024

After treating fans to a surprise music video for "PARANOIA INTRO" earlier today, Bladee has just dropped a 30-song mixtape titled Cold Visions. The always-experimenting, enigmatic artist has been particularly active lately, delivering Psykos, his first album with long-time collaborator Yung Lean, just over a month ago and later appearing on Varg²™'s most recent album before releasing "TL;DR," his latest posse cut with his collective Drain Gang.

With Cold Visions, Bladee's 11-year journey in the music industry comes to a climax as his expansive range of vocals are layered atop unrelenting bass-heavy beats that often transition from one track to another with a ruthless tempo. Working on Dying's F1LTHY, who teamed up for the duo's collaborative Working on Dying mixtape in 2017, has a production credit on all 30 tracks, though Whitearmor, Yung Sherman, Lusi, Mechatok, Skrillex and more are credited as well. Additional vocal contributions are made by Yung Lean, Thaiboy Digital and Black Kray (aka Sickboyrari), with the former two making brief appearances across the project. A myriad of references to Bladee's past work are also included throughout, such as the "profound sadness" sample from Street Fighter IV that first appeared on Yung Lean and Bladee's collaborative track "Heal You // Bladerunner" in 2013 now appearing on the duo's new song "TERRIBLE EXCELLENCE."
