May 27 not only signals exactly two months since Hardwell made his grand reintroduction at Bayfront Park, but also the first formal stop of the Rebels Never Die tour. And while we await more videos from his set in Jerusalem—where he teased that 11 never-before-heard Hardwell tracks would make an appearance—the Revealed Recordings boss is lengthening the bimonthly single rollout of his forthcoming sophomore album. As we learned through the tracklist sported on his album t-shirt, “GODD” was designated to be the sixth Rebels Never Die single after “DOPAMINE,” and that’s exactly what it is.

Sampling the vocal from Marco V’s 2002 classic of the same name, “GODD” was up there amongst the presiding fan-favorite IDs from Hardwell’s Ultra set. And it has genuinely felt like the high-quality version of every Rebels Never Die offering has both one-upped the live version we heard at Ultra and the single that’s come before it. “GODD” promptly upholds that general consensus for a sixth consecutive instance, with Hardwell digging even more depth to his armory of bigroom-meets-techno conceptions, rigged with a hair-raising breakdown and buildup that takes everyone back to that Sunday evening in downtown Miami.
