Paul McCartney is looking (and sounding) extremely good for 80, and at this point, we should all probably be looking to him for lifestyle advice. Luckily, fans can now drink like Sir Paul, since he has shared the recipe for his signature cocktail.

Appearing on his daughter Mary's Discovery+ show, Mary McCartney Serves It Up, Paul unveils his personal version of the margarita, which he calls the "Maccarita." This involves freshly squeezed clementine or orange (as well as the usual lime), two types of orange liqueur (including the standard Triple Sec, plus of course tequila), and an extremely elegant technique for salting the rim of the glass.

Macca even uses a cocktail shaker rather than simply throwing ice into the glass. (The only downside is that Paul's shaking prompts some rather embarrassing dancing from Mary. An occupational hazard of cocktail-making.) All in all, it makes this writer's DIY margaritas look extremely pedestrian.

According to Mary, these cocktails are extremely popular among people who know the Beatle, and they're a frequent request at family gatherings. "You are famous for this cocktail," she says.

Please remember to enjoy these responsibly. "You don't want to drink too many of these," Paul warns, "The thing is, because it tastes so good, it's very moreish. So, 'I'll have another of those.' And suddenly…"
