Cactus Planet Flea Market and Denim Tears founder Tremaine Emory present: junk. Just junk. Literally!

CPFM and Emory are presenting "Just Junk," a week-long exhibit and temporary shop at Bodega 245, an enigmatic experiential space located at 245 Centre Street, New York.

And, because this is an art installation overseen by two modern masters of merchandise, there is β€” guess what! β€” merch!

Highsnobiety is exclusively debuting a commemorative T-shirt created by CPFM for the event, seen in the gallery below.

It releases on May 2 to coincide with the launch and wears artwork from Tom Sachs, who founded Bodega 245 in 2016. The experiment, previously on hiatus, restarted in April 2024.

Sachs, whose longtime Nike partnership ended in 2023, illustrates the inimitable Cactus Plant Flea Market smiley face logo and scribbles out text in homage to Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann.

In contrast to the "Made in Switzerland" lingo, however, the T-shirt is made in America.

It's not the only limited edition drop going down at Bodega 245: Emory is contributing a collaborative CPFM sweater designed in homage to a video store owned by his parents.

The store's name, Just Tapes, inspired the Just Junk moniker. "Stuff is replaceable in the end," Emory wrote on Instagram. "it’s 'just junk.'"

Memories, however? That's the real stuff.

This Bodega 245 experience comes during a busy time for all involved.

Denim Tears recently issued an Arthur Jafa collaboration that's a tangible manifestation of Emory's relationship with his former employer, Supreme.

Cactus Plant Flea Market, meanwhile, is breaking a long streak of silence with a flurry of activities.

Beyond the Bodega 245 activation, it's only just released a new round of collaborative Nike sneakers that sold out as quickly as its previous Nike drops β€” in other words, instantaneously.

Don't expect the Bodega 245 items to linger any longer, though the physicality of the project at least makes it a more egalitarian experience, first come first served and all that.

Pretty big deal for some junk.
