The Asian edition is inspired by the ZX 9000 and comes in eye-catching teal, the European release is white and green like many early ’90s adidas runners, and the US-exclusive version comes in a dark blue and gold inspired by the 1980 SL 80.

Editor’s Notes: adidas Consortium has unveiled its first ever take on the Ultraboost 19. The three retro colorways will each be released in a different world region, similar to the recent YEEZY Boost 350 V2 drop. Asia is getting a teal colorway, Europe gets white/green, and the US is receiving blue/gold.

Most exciting is that the trio of Ultraboost 19s come with the Three Stripes’ Torsion tech, which was launched in 1989. The move is part of a larger adidas Consortium effort for Spring/Summer 2019 to celebrate the old-school sneaker tech.

The system was designed in 1988 by Jacques Chassaing, creator of the ZX series of running shoes. It works by providing a bridge between the rear and front of the foot, increasing stability and support for each section of the foot while letting the different sections move independently of one another.
