Beatport has announced a new film series with the first episode featuring Nastia. The documentary film series "Off The Record" peeks behind the curtain of leading DJs and producers in electronic music. With the ongoing war in Ukraine, Nastia has been forced to relocate as a refuge to Amsterdam and this film captures how she is balancing her career under the new and difficult circumstances. "Off The Record" with Nastia is produced by Clockwise and directed by Simeon Higginson.

Though managing to operate largely out of view of the mainstream, Bill Lasswell has collaborated with the giants from Miles Davis to Mick Jagger, Bob Marley to Bootsy Collins, to name but a few. Life is never easy for musicians however and he is struggling to hold on to the lease for Orange Music, the legendary New Jersey studio that he has helmed for the last 20 years. The past few years, accelerated by Covid whilst simultaneously battling preexisting health conditions, has decimated his earnings and put Bill in this difficult position.

Kieran Hebden (aka Four Tet) will receive roughly $70,000, plus his legal costs, after Domino agreed to backpay a 50 percent rate on streaming royalties.
After he won his long drawn out royalty battle with his former label, Domino, the label agreed to backpay roughly $70,000 in historical royalties dating back over twenty years. The amount is the difference between the 50 percent rate that Hebden believed he should receive for streaming and downloads, and the 18 percent rate that Domino was paying. It sets a big precedent for future streaming and 360 contracts for artists.

No summer is complete without a runaway track. This summer it looks like AirWolf Paradise will take the lead having dropped 'Don't Hurt Me Baby' on Patrick Topping's Trick label. Topping has an ear for a hit and it would appear his hearing is fine-tuned as the Australian duo drop this summer-ready anthem. It might well have a 90s house nostalgia edge, but it's going to get your next few months pumping.
