Laying dormant since 2018’s debut full-length The Object of Infection, Richmond, VA slam fiends Crucial Rip are back to absolutely knock your fucking teeth out with their first new music in four very long years. “Violent Retribution,” the debut single off the upcoming album of the same name, boast everything we loved about this band in year’s past, namely SLAMS and more fucking SLAMS.
Crucial Rip have always straddled the line between slam death metal and beatdown deathcore and seem content to lean on the latter with the new material. If you’re a fan of bands like Strangled and Pintglass, you will have a grand ol’ time windmilling someone to death to the sounds of “Violent Retribution.”
