Sacred Serpent, a recent addition to Kitsap County’s tight-knit metal scene, have come out of the gate with an impressive slab of blasting, grinding, and sometimes even doom-y death metal. The group recorded "Throne of Lies" at Shit Studios, whose impressive background of work includes Bremerton punksThe Assassinators and Seattle favorites Burn Burn Burn (the latter of which have been covered by Fringe here and here). As American and Northwestern as Bremerton’s local Navy shipyard, but as Swedish as terrible furniture and meatballs, Sacred Serpent blast, grind, tremolo pick and gallop through material that’s some of the best local metal to grace my ears in recent memory.
