Sammy Davis Jr. returned to the charts in a big way with his 1968 album, I've Gotta Be Me earning him a top-30 album and its' title track a #11 pop hit. Once again successfully blending showtunes and popular standards made famous by his Rat Pack buddies, Davis records three songs for the album penned by Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields, two from the original iconic 1966 Broadway musical Sweet Charity.

The third song written by the pair is this week's top tune. A little love letter to New York City, the tune was written specifically for the film version which earned an Oscar nomination for Best Score in 1969. Sammy, always a force to be reckoned with, also starred in the film along side Shirley MacLaine, Ricardo Montalban, and Chita Rivera.

Catch the latest production of the show from Reprise Theatre Group starring Laura Bell Bundy (Hairspray, Legally Blonde, Wicked) and directed by Tony-winning director Kathleen Marshall beginning June 20 through July 1 at Freud Playhouse - UCLA! Click HERE for tickets.
