I figure whenever you're down and out
The only way is up
And I'll be up like a rose bud
High on the vine

Jamie Cullum puts a sweet uptempo dixieland stamp on his version to this Cy Coleman/Carolyn Leigh standard for the film and official soundtrack to Going in Style. The song was originally written for the 1960 Broadway musical Wildcat, starring Lucille Ball in what was the only Broadway role of her career.

This 2017 American heist comedy was directed by Zach Braff and stars Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Alan Arkin. It's a remake of the 1979 film of the same name and you can watch the three stars sing a bar or two of this week's tune in the film. The soundtrack is solid and features gems by Sam Cooke, Dean Martin, Sonny Rollins, Otis Redding, Mark Ronson feat. Mystikal, and A Tribe Called Quest. Alan Arkin holds more-than-his-own singing a duet with the film's co-star Ann-Margaret on Ray Charles' "Hallelujah I Love Her So".
