Oscars 2024: Nominees and Winners

The 96th Academy Awards were held on March 12, 2024 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. The event was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

The special night was full of grand performances from each of the nominees for Best Original Score, including Ryan Gosling (& many Kens) for "I'm Just Ken." Billie Eilish and Finneas also performed their own song from Barbie, "What Was I Made For?" which ended up winning that award.

There were emotional moments and powerful speeches. But there were also light-hearted moments, including John Cena's unique look for presenting Best Costume Design; that award ended up going to Holly Waddington for Poor Things.

The night closed out with four highly-anticipated awards: Best Actor In a Leading Role (Cillian Murphy), Best Director (Christopher Nolan), Best Actress In a Leading Role (Emma Stone), and Best Picture (Oppenheimer). By the end of the show, Oppenheimer had seven wins, while Poor Things wrapped up with four awards.

Of course, here at Musicnotes, we're huge fans of all the music! But we also wanted to highlight some of the other winners from the night, which can be seen below.
