Sloan performs songs from Commonwealth on Backstage Pass

Season 2, episode 12

In this episode of CBC Music Backstage PassSloan performs four brand new songs for a live audience in Toronto Studio 211.

Chris Murphy, Patrick Pentland, Jay Ferguson and Andrew Scott played tracks from their 2014 record, Commonwealth. It is the band's 11th album and their first new release since 2011.

Like the name suggests, Commonwealth is the coming together of several nations to form an alliance. Each band member was given a side of this double vinyl release to do with as they pleased. The result is four solo E.Ps that somehow still sound as much like Sloan as any of their previous works.

Backstage Pass opened the doors to CBC Music Studio 211 and invited a live audience to come listen. We have four cuts from that session for you to enjoy.
