Joris BON – “Alive Heart”

Published: April 19, 2024

Effervescent piano and wordless vocal cut-ups assemble a melodic charm throughout “Alive Heart,” the recent single from French artist Joris BON. An electro-minded aesthetical appeal shows in the thumping rhythmic pulse and climactic structural outpouring. Sprightly piano lines and throbbing bass intrigue converge amidst various vocal snippets, building with climactic effectiveness into the introduction of buzzing synths at the one-minute turn.

The two-minute mark incorporates a brief though effective vocal tone, which precedes an illuminated ascent in the piano’s tonal direction. The infectious blend of vocal samples re-emerge thereafter, combining with the clanging piano theatrics for a replay-inducing, brightly atmospheric shimmering. The artist notes that they aspired toward “a sound with a lot of emotions and depth, a unifying sound that invites inspiration, to see mountains, the moon and the sun, and the northern lights.” With the ravishing “Alive Heart” that mission certainly succeeds.

This and other tracks featured this month can be streamed on the updating Obscure Sound’s ‘Emerging Singles’ Spotify playlist.

We discovered this release via MusoSoup, as part of the artist’s promotional campaign.
