“Bad Love” is a captivating new track from Hank Fontaine, an artist from the Frogtown neighborhood of Los Angeles. In the first minute alone, the track successfully navigates from emotively downcast folk into catchy shimmering with psych-folk charisma. Per Fontaine, the track’s inspiration was simple: “This song is about the time someone cut me off for a parking spot at Trader Joe’s, don’t let that turn you off to it though.” The track’s eclectic tonal shifts and hooky core melody make it one that yearns for ample replay; “Bad Love” shows some excellent songwriting from Hank Fontaine.
