Mike Dean Drops New Synth Album '4:24'

Published: April 25, 2024

Mike Dean officially released his latest solo studio album 4:24, marking the fifth installment of his annual 4:20 series.

Clocking in at 35 minutes, the 10-track album continues the GRAMMY-winning producer's world-building that he kicked off with 4:20. Synth and guitar arrangements deliver textured and psychedelic melodies that also offer sweet little surprises for his listeners, which ensure that the experience doesn't feel stagnant. The 10 tracks are meticulously created with a variety of musical aspects that bring audiences to exciting sonic spaces, and really expands the universe Dean has built with his album series. Joining the album is a 13-minute psychedelic short film created by Jason Goldwatch, which explores "the human experience through the eyes of a robot via layered imagery custom made for the mostly analog tracks."
