Five months after the long-awaited album arrived by surprise, D’Angelo is taking Black Messiah on the road. The neo-soul singer has announced the Second Coming Tour, which will take him across the States this summer. The 14-city trek kicks off in Oakland, CA on June 7 before wrapping up in Sayreville, NJ on June 28, with a late-night appearance at Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Festival along the way.

Like his SNL and Apollo performances, D’Angelo will be accompanied by The Vanguard, his band that includes The Who bassist Pino Palladino, guitarists Jesse Johnson and Isaiah Sharkey, drummer Chris “Daddy” Dave, keyboardist Cleo “Pookie” Sample and vocalists Kendra Foster, Charlie “Red” Middleton and Jermain Holmes.

Tickets for the tour go on sale May 1 at 10AM local time via BlackMessiah.co.
