Baywatch is back and coming to the big screen but this time with a much more colorful cast … and by colorful, we mean diverse.
HipHollywood caught up with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who also serves as an executive producer on the film, and he told us it was important to have a cast of women who were hot but also represented different ethnic backgrounds.
In the film, Johnson takes on the role of Mitch Buchanon, while Ilfenesh Hadera takes on the role of Stephanie Holden, both of whom were played by caucasian actors David Hasselhoff and Alexander Paul in the popular ’90s TV show.
Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario and Kelly Rohrbach round out the rest of the Baywatch crew, while Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra takes on the villainous role of Leeds, a character originally written for a man.
