Tove Lo continues her successful year of new music and bold new videos with this week’s release of her visuals for “True Disaster,” the synth-heavy song from her newest album Lady Wood.
The video for “True Disaster,” a song about getting her heart knowingly played with, features her dancing down a dark and empty street, trying to escape a shadowy figure. At the end of it all, it seems as though she can’t escape—which likely symbolizes her own desire to get hurt. For anyone who thought she was just a party pop songstress after her first few hits, “True Disaster” is more proof Tove Lo is so much more.
The video was originally released as a clip from her short film, Fairy Dust, which accompanied the first half of her double album Lady Wood, which will be followed up with another release in 2017. The second album will continue to explore what the first did, featuring songs such as “Light Beams” and “Pitch Black.”
