Watch The Kills Cover Rihanna’s ‘Desperado’

Published: May 26, 2017

It’s been less than a year since The Kills released their fifth studio album Ash & Ice in June, and already the duo, made up of Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince, are back with new music. Well, at least their new take on music.

The band just released their raw and gritty cover of Rihanna’s “Desperado,” a track from the pop star’s 2016 album Anti. The track has experienced a resurgence in recent months, with a feature on the final season of Girls and now with The Kills acoustic cover (check out the best music moments from Girls here).

The new cover is part of The Kills upcoming Echo Home – Non Electric EP, which is set to be released digitally on June 2 and in a special vinyl edition on August 18. The new disc features four acoustic tracks recorded at the legendary Electric Lady Studios.

The upcoming album is in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the band’s Bad Rooster debut EP. Echo Home – Non Electric EP will feature acoustic versions of the songs “Echo Home” and “Your Love” from 2016’s Ash & Ice, Rihanna’s “Desperado” and the track “Wait” from The Kills debut album EP.

The Kills are set to hit the road this summer, touring through Europe and South America in support of Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi and Guns ‘N’ Roses.
