Stop ‘Right Now’: Haim Announce Second Album With New Music Video

Published: April 27, 2017

Remember Haim? After teasing new music on Instagram and speculating about the launch of their new album, it’s officially Haim time—and the band finally has something to tell us.

Haim will release their new album Something to Tell You on July 7, which is also the 10th anniversary of when the Californian sister-trio from the San Fernando Valley performed their first-ever show.

The first single off their forthcoming release, ‘Right Now’ was also given the music video treatment by famed director Paul Thomas Anderson, who’s known for films like Boogie Nights and Magnolia. Haim and Anderson go way back when the sisters’ mom, Donna, was Anderson’s art teacher. Then in 2015, Asa Taccone from the L.A. band Electric Guest connected Haim to Anderson.

In the video, you get a glimpse of Haim recording inside Valentine Recording Studios—showcasing the sister’s vocals and instruments coming together to create the melodic new single.

Last summer, Haim performed new songs ‘Nothing’s Wrong’ and ‘Give Me Just A Little of Your Love’ during their live performances that you may have caught during WayHome and Osheaga.

Haim linked up once again with Ariel Rechtshaid (producer to Adele, Charli XCX and Carly Rae Jepsen) to produce Something to Tell You, the follow-up to their sizzling 2013 debut Days Are Gone. They also worked on the album with Rostam Batamanglij formerly from Vampire Weekend.

The album’s lead single will be officially released May 3, ahead of their second Saturday Night Live performance on May 13 when Melissa McCartney hosts. But, for right now, watch their latest video below.
