It’s been a long time coming, but Niall Horan has finally announced that his debut album is almost here.
Having released his first solo single “This Town” at the end of last year, it seemed like a safe bet that a full album was not too far away. But then Horan’s second single “Slow Hands” came and went without an album announcement. Thankfully, Horan has not only revealed that his first record will arrive in just over a month, but he’s also dropped a new single this week for patient fans.
Titled Flicker, Horan announced this week that his debut album will drop on October 20, releasing the album cover on his Instagram page. Swoon-level 100 achieved.
The title of the new album shouldn’t come as a shock considering Niall is currently on the road for his Flicker Sessions Tour, which includes one Canadian date in Toronto on November 1.
As for his third single, Horan is continuing to provide beautiful heartbreak ballads. Calling it one of his favorites on his new album, Horan says he’s ‘been waiting ages’ for fans to hear his new track, “Too Much To Ask.”
Similar in tone to his lead single “This Town,” Horan’s “Too Much To Ask” is another tune for those suffering from unrequited love. Armed with his acoustic guitar and broken heart, Horan sings “My heart is hoping / You’ll walk right in tonight / Tell me there are things that you regret / ‘Cause if I’m being honest I ain’t over you yet.” Love can really suck, but it sure does inspire pretty songs.
Horan’s Flicker Sessions Tour is set to hit the U.S. and Canada next week. The former One Direction member also just announced a second set of North American dates for 2018, with opening artist Maren Morris.
