Katy Perry, more like Slayty Perry because homegirl is slaying the competition with seven nominations for the 2014 MTV European Music Awards. Some Katy’s nominations include Best U.S. Act, Best Pop, Best Song, Best Female, and Best Live. Damn, that’s a lot of Bests.
But don’t worry Arianators, Ariana Grande is right behind Katy with six nominations, and Pharrell and 5 Seconds of Summer have five nominations each. Other nominees include Iggy Azalea, Sam Smith, Beyonc, and Nicki Minaj.
Interesting to note that Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj are both nominated for Best Hip Hop. It won’t really help their supposed feud if either of those two women win. Also unique this year is that Canadian artists have their own specific category. Justin Bieber, Kiesza, Avril Lavigne, Drake, and Arcade Fire are all nominated for Best Canadian Act.
This year the awards will be held in Glasgow, Scotland so I doubt we’ll get a repeat of Miley Cyrus’ infamous smoking stunt.
