It’s The Weeknd’s Favourite Time Of Year – What’s Next?

Published: August 18, 2017

It’s been exactly six years since The Weeknd dropped his second mixtape Thursday, gifting us with hits like “The Birds Pt. 1,” “Thursday” and “The Zone” featuring Drake. It’s Abel himself who admitted he comes “alive in the fall time.”

To think that The Weeknd began his journey by uploading several songs to YouTube in 2010, and then followed up with three breakthrough mixtapes just a year later, is truly a testament to his talent. Seeing as The Weeknd is the self-proclaimed “legend of the fall,” and it’s just about back-to-school time, there are more than a few serious signs he could be coming alive once again.

All his albums have been released either right before or during the fall. Kiss Land was released September 2013, followed by Beauty Behind the Madness in late August 2015 and, most recently, Starboy last November. Albums seem to drop consistently and with about a year in between, so—does this mean an album is on its way?

The Weeknd’s just released 14 new pieces to his #003 merch collection, the third part to his official 2017 merchandise. The designs featured in the collection might be an indication of album themes to come, like we saw with the Starboy line. Or, he’s just trying to keep us warm and stylish for the upcoming seasons…

He’s been working very hard on his Puma XO Parallel sneakers and the release date is just around the corner on August 24, just in time for the fall, once again.

Showing absolutely no signs of slowing down, The Weeknd added a second phase to his Legend of the Fall Tour in Canada, the U.S., Australia and New Zealand along side Gucci Mane, fellow XO member Nav and French Montana.  The tour is set to wrap mid-December.
