Drake And Migos Honour Soul Trail In Video For ‘Walk It Talk It’

Published: March 19, 2018

Atlanta rap trio Migos and Toronto’s 6ix God Drake may account for four of the biggest hip hop acts in 2018, but for their new collaboration video “Walk It Talk It,” the men are time-travelling back to the 1970s before they were even born.

Paying homage to Soul Train with their own version of the disco show titled Culture Ride, Migos and Drake enlisted Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx to appear as the shows’ cool cat host Ron Delirious, a play on Soul Train’s actual host, Ron Cornelius. There’s extreme roller skating, white platform shoes, bell bottoms, and beautiful afros everywhere.

All five men got into the 1970s vibe, with Foxx and Migo’s members Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff all opting for going natural with fake afros, but Drake decided to see how he would have looked in the 1970s with a Jheri curl, even though the hair style didn’t become popular until the 1980s. That Drake. Always ahead of his time.

It doesn’t take long for Migos’ latest single to get repetitive, but thankfully the video, including the group’s dance moves, keep it entertaining for the full five minutes.

The trio’s most recent collaboration with Drake is their latest in a long list of artists they’ve hit the studio with, including Nicki Minaj, Post Malone, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, Big Sean, and Cardi B, who confirmed last week that she and Migos member Offset are expecting their first child together in July.

“Walk It Talk It” appears on Migos latest album Culture II, which recently went No. 1 on Billboard.
