The Weeknd treats Coachella to a rare weekend 2 surprise with a mini Kanye West set

Coachella's second weekend is always a quieter thing. Drake's already awkwardly made out with Madonna. Florence wasn't likely to re-break her foot for your own perverse rock 'n' roll thrill. And it's been seven days since Tyler, The Creator cussed out a Jenner. There weren't even as many pirate streamers to satisfy the small, but probably dedicated nation of Couchella-heads watching from home (and it seems that most streams from week 1 have been downed, too). The fest needed a little sprucing up. Enter: Kanye West.

During his Saturday night headlining set, The Weeknd covered "Heartless," after which, Kanye joined Tesfaye on stage to run through “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” “Black Skinhead,” “Don’t Like (Remix),” and “All Day." The TV stations had already cut away and nobody appears to have a stream of the whole set; if it weren't for the above video and about a million shitty Instagram videos, the tale of how Kanye saved Coachella might never have escaped the Valley.
