“This Song” is a light, airy synth pop number built around the lush vocals of Rostam (formerly of Vampire Weekend). An upbeat track, “This Song” is as danceable as anything we’ve heard from RAC to date.
Another dancefloor-friendly song, “Falling” is an enticing mix of classic house music with R&B and electronic influences.
Also featuring backing vocals from Carly Rae Jepsen and Sam Dew, “Hate That You Know Me” is a nice mix of things. Booming percussion compliments soft melodies, and the trio of voices harmonize deftly before giving way to some out-of-left-field synths.
The much-anticipated debut album from this indie supergroup is out next week, and we were treated to a taste of it with “Real Love”, a song that cements the “super” status of this band. With a great pop hook and harmonies featuring five singers, “Real Love” shows us what happens when you get talented people together.
Fresh off her collab with Linkin Park, Kiiara came out with “Whippin” last week. Featuring the production of Felix Snow, “Whippin” is a return for Kiiara to her usual sound: electronic-tinged, luscious pop music.
