FULL SCREEN: Big Sean, Kanye West and Drake do serious business; Courtney Barnett roams the suburbs

Published: March 03, 2015
Full Screen collects all of the remarkable videos we've seen in the last 24 hours. Today: hip-hop's biggest talents team-up for deadly serious business, an Aussie slack rocker gets bummed out by the suburbs, and much, much more.

Big Sean ft. Kanye West and Drake, "Blessings"

YouTube Video

There hasn't been a day in, what, the past two weeks, when Kanye West hasn't dropped off some hot news item. Why should today be any different? Kanye can't be found on the "Blessings" Big Sean stuck on Dark Sky Paradise, but, "sure, Mr. West, you can show up and hold down a verse." Can't hurt, right? Big Sean, Drake, and 'Ye take turns looking super dramatic and powerful and godlike in the black-and-white clip, backgrounded by swirling clouds and onscreen atonement. – Chris Hampton

Dark Sky Paradise is out now on Def Jam.

Courtney Barnett, "Depreston"

YouTube Video

The sophomore LP from Melbourne’s Courtney Barnett will reach our ears later this March. Playing off the name Preston, Melbourne (home to 30,000), the video for “Depreston” doesn’t actually feature any footage from there. We’re shown a gloomy portrait of an Australian suburb, which, to be honest, doesn’t feel fair as we’re stuck traipsing the cold, slush-filled Canadian streets. Created by Bec Kingma, we’re taken on a Google Street View adventure through empty streets as Barnett sings, quite appropriately, “This place seems depressing.” – Ryan Parker

Courtney Barnett's Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit will be out March 24th on Mom + Pop.

Seaway, "Alberta"

YouTube Video

This Oakville, ON five-piece has been on a seemingly never-ending tour and it’s paying off. Growing their sound, playing to bigger crowds, hopping on larger tours, and flying further distances, the video for the All In My Head track “Alberta” shows exactly what that’s like. Having spent a couple weeks in the UK, we’re shown England, Scotland, along with Seaway’s raucous, energetic live show — bloody fingers, mosh pits, stage-diving lead singer and all. – Ryan Parker

Seaway's All In My Head EP is out now on New Damage Records.

D.R.A.M., "Cha Cha"

YouTube Video

It's cold and sunless. A car sprayed filthy wet snow at me on my way to work. And the forecast doesn't hint that things might get better soon. "Cha Cha" by D.R.A.M. (Does Real Ass Music, we hear) is a fiesta when we desperately need one — confetti, tacos, video games, the promise of latin dancing! – Chris Hampton

D.R.A.M.'s #1EpicEP is available for download now from his website.
