GUNS N' ROSES Featuring DUFF MCKAGAN: Pro-Shot Footage Of REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS Performance
Published: April 24, 2014
Former
GUNS N' ROSES bassist
Duff McKagan performed with the band last night (Wednesday, April 23) at the
Revolver Golden Gods awards at Club Nokia in Los Angeles. This marked the first time that
McKagan has performed with the group on U.S. soil, following appearances in London, Vancouver and, most recently, five shows in South America.
McKagan joined
GUNS 'N ROSES onstage for the first time in 17 years at an October 2010 concert in London. He also performed with the current version of
GUNS in December 2011 at shows in Vancouver and Seattle. All three appearances were for a few songs, not full gigs.
Professionally filmed video footage of the
"Welcome To The Jungle" and
"Paradise City" performances from last night's event can be seen below.
This month's South American shows marked the first time he has played full concerts with the band since his departure in 1994. He stood in for current bassist
Tommy Stinson, who was committed to a
REPLACEMENTS reunion at
Coachella.
VH1 Classic will also air the 2014
Golden Gods awards on Saturday, May 24 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.
GUNS N' ROSES frontman
Axl Rose took home this year's Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award, while
Joan Jett was the first female recipient of the Golden God Award.
In addition to
GUNS N' ROSES and
Jett, performers included
THE PRETTY RECKLESS,
SUICIDE SILENCE,
A DAY TO REMEMBER and
Zakk Wylde.
Also appearing at the show were members of
BLACK SABBATH and
LINKIN PARK,
Rob Zombie,
Marilyn Manson,
Andrew Dice Clay,
Carmen Electra,
Tony Hawk,
Richie Sambora,
Jacoby Shaddix of
PAPA ROACH,
Alice Cooper,
Ace Frehley and others.
