Orville Peck Gets Elton John, Allison Russell and More for 'Stampede: Vol. 1'

Published: April 26, 2024

It's hard to believe that it's technically been less than a month since Orville Peck started teasing his forthcoming duets album Stampede with the announcement of its first single: a rendition of "Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond of Each Other" with Willie Nelson.

The singer-songwriter's Warner Records debut has now gotten a release date and a list of collaborators — for its first part, at least. Stampede: Vol. 1 arrives on May 10, and features additional appearances from Elton John, Allison Russell, Nathaniel Rateliff, Noah Cyrus, Midland and Bu Cuaron.

The newfangled inclusion of "Vol. 1" in the album title indicates that this may be a project larger than your average LP that's going to be released in multiple instalments. Peck remains enshrouded in masked mystery! In the meantime, you can pre-save Stampede: Vol. 1 here.
