My Bloody Valentine Are Apparently Working on a New Album

It's been years since we got any new material from once disbanded and then reformed shoegaze heroes My Bloody Valentine, but it appears fans may finally get their hands on yet another new post-Loveless album.

As Pitchfork points out, a newly posted festival bio for band leader Kevin Shields states he is currently "working on material for a new my bloody valentine album to be released in 2018." Sure, it's not a lot to go on, but it does come via Sigur Ros' newly announced Iceland festival Norður og Niður, which will have Shields playing the inaugural event from December 27 to 30 in Reykjavík.

If My Bloody Valentine are indeed plotting a new album release for next year, it would mark their first album since 2013 reunion album m b v.

Along with word of the possible new studio effort, the bio adds Shields is "currently finishing an all analog vinyl version of loveless and isn't anything."

You can read the bio for yourself over here.

Of course, news that Shields is working on new My Bloody Valentine material has surfaced before. In 2014, reports surfaced that Shields was working on material for a new EP from the band. Of course, that EP never did arrive.
