Mötley Crüe Sign Record Deal for New Single "Dogs of War"

Published: April 23, 2024

Mötley Crüe were a bit of a mess in 2023, with ousted guitarist Mick Mars suing the band, and then the band's manager accusing Mars's lawyers of elder abuse. Despite that, the group — now including guitarist John 5 — have signed a new record deal and announced a single.

The band have signed with Big Machine Records — yes, the label at the centre of the Taylor Swift re-recordings kerfuffle — and will release the single "Dogs of War" on April 26.

"We are thrilled to announce the forthcoming release of our new music through Big Machine Records," Mötley Crüe said in a statement, shouting out the label's CEO Scott Borchetta. "Scott's been a friend and supporter of the band for a long time, and we loved collaborating on the Nashville Outlaws album in 2014. We're very happy to know our new music will be in the best of hands with Scott and his exceptional team at Big Machine."

Borchetta called the new music "ferocious."

It's unclear if this new single is a stand-alone, or the beginning of a new album campaign. Mötley Crüe will perform at this year's Ottawa Bluesfest.
