Recommend me a P-Bass Pickup

I just picked up a Squire P-Bass for recording, but It's almost impossible to hear in a mix. So now I'm looking at upgrading the pickups to something that'll cut through a bit more.

I've also heard that changing one of the pots to 500k will give it more high end. Has anyone here tried this?
