This week’s heads up: NT Alumni Drew and Ellie Holcomb offer a charming new music video for “Electricity” off their new 3-song EP (plus a slew of tour dates).
While Drew and Ellie Holcomb are both phenomenal solo artists in their own rights, something even more magical happens when they conjure their sonic alchemy as a duo. Need evidence? Look no further than last month’s release of Electricity, their new 3-song EP featuring originals “Love Anyway” and “Electricity,” as well as their cover of the Willie Nelson classic “On the Road Again.” To coincide with the new EP, the duo just released a gorgeously shot music video for “Electricity” last week.
Drew has described the song “Electricity” as “a no-apologies love song I wrote for Ellie after a guy told me he didn’t like my love songs” and the smoldering music video highlights that concept perfectly. Filmed backstage at Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville before one of their recent shows, “Electricity” simply captures the smitten duo in their natural element as they sing to each other, flirt playfully, and laugh together. For anyone who has ever seen the two onstage together, the “Electricity” music video serves as a small snapshot of how their joined voices and onstage chemistry are heartwarming to experience.
