Takashi Murakami & Virgil Abloh Come Together On New Artwork

Published: March 18, 2018

Takashi Murakami posted what he called a “new colabo with Virgil Abloh” on his Instagram today.

The duo had been working on their co-exhibition recently, which coincided with London Fashion Week 2018.

The contemporary art exhibition was dubbed Future History and consisted of collaborative works by Takashi Murakami and Virgil Abloh.

Working together in Murakami’s Tokyo studio, Abloh and Murakami produced a unique series of works in which their styles and trademarks intersect in a series of vibrant mash-ups.

While the above image is not a collaboration in the sneaker or style sense, it most certainly is the product of a meeting of two generational minds.

The artwork combines OFF–WHITE’s famous logo with the Japanese artist’s iconic flower smiley logo.

Flip through the images in the Instagram post above and let us know what you think about the duo’s work together.
