The band’s second overall recording (and first proper album, following 2009′s self-released ‘Of Dirt’), ‘This Place That Contains My Spirit’ is the result of three years of intensive writing and recording. All that effort has evidently paid off however, as the four lengthy compositions that comprise this record are rich with atmosphere, texture and emotion. Utilising a variety of instruments that extend beyond metal’s traditional pallet (including a Roland Juno-60, classical guitar, and ocarina), this album is packed full of melancholy, yearning black metal and comes highly recommended indeed.
