Listen to new track by pg.lost ‘Ikaros’

Published: August 25, 2016

Sweden’s pg.lost have released a track ‘Ikaros’ taken from their album ‘Versus’ which is released September 16 on Palagic Records. You can buy ‘Versus’ here.

Much of ‘Versus’ was written with the band composing ideas separately and swapping them online prior to joining up physically to record the album’s seven tracks. Each member contributed something unique, and the band’s sound has flourished as a result. Guitarist Gustav commented:

“Kristian was in the middle of heavy touring with Cult of Luna playing keys every day during that time, so he had a lot of synth-based ideas for songs. I guess this has helped us to take the band into a bit of a new direction sound wise“. And those synths are more prominent on this release than on previous outings.”

Speaking about ‘Ikaros’, the band said:

“The song Ikaros is a step into a world where a rougher and more mature pg.lost are joined with large and growling analog synths. Ikaros was the first song written for the album Versus and has set the tone for the album in its entirety.”

So, as plans unfold for live shows throughout the remainder of the year, it seems as though we’re dealing with a more mature and experimental pg.lost, which is no bad thing at all.
