Listen to new track by Caina ‘Fumes of God’

Published: June 24, 2016

Cinematic black noise mongers Caina have teamed with Terrorizer to exclusively stream a first track from their forthcoming album ‘Christ Clad in White Phosphorus’, out on Apocalyptic Witchcraft Records on 15 July. You can buy Caina’s ‘Christ Clad in White Phosphorous’ here.

Caina are:

Andy Curtis-Brignell – guitars, percussion, programming, synthesisers
Laurence Taylor – vocals/lyrics
Paul Röbertson – bass guitar

Speaking about ‘Fumes of God’ the band said:

“The track is punctuated by field recordings of heavy machinery, inspired in part by the film Tetsuo The Iron Man – except in this case the man isn’t bonding with the machine in literal sense but is struggling desperately with a symbolic symbiosis.”

Speaking about the new album the band said:

“…the album features Dwid Hellion as Vermapyre and Warren Schoenbright. The song initially began life as a schlocky reframing of the Tokyo subway attacks as a religious act but evolved into an exploration of religious conviction and monolithic belief systems in general. The album was put together over the course of a year, most of the foundations for the tracks being written whilst ACB (Andy Curtis-Brignell) experienced a two month long dissociative state due to a change In his antipsychotic medication. The album reflects this in its chaotic and fractured sound and furious pace – it is the sound of a mind on fire. CCiWP is the first album to not feature ACB on lead vocals (excluding the final track) as they were handled along with the majority of the lyrics by Laurence Taylor of Cold Fell. This enabled Andy to focus his attention almost entirely on the instrument tracks which are inarguably far more complex and ambitious than on any preceding album. The bass guitar parts were put together in close collaboration with Paul although we were careful to allow his natural virtuosity and sense of weirdness to shine through.”
