Baby Groot Kicks Every Ass in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2′ Trailer

Baby Grooy Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2

The Guardians are back. After an intriguing first teaser gave us our first glimpses, a new trailer, released this weekend, takes us deeper into the film which looks to highlight everything audiences loved about the first. Quippy dialogue? Check. Irreverent humor? Check. Classic rock soundtrack? Check. Baby Groot? Double check. While we still don’t know much about what galactic threat the team will be guarding us against, it’s still nice to see the band back together again. Also Baby Groot. Have I mentioned that yet? Because wow, Baby Groot. Guardians of the Galaxy 2 opens May 5, 2017.

So ‘The Mummy’ Looks Absurd

the-mummy

Last week’s teaser for The Mummy was pretty ridiculous, but nothing would really prepare us for the sheer absurdity of the full trailer, released last night. Universal is hoping to kickstart their Shared Movie Monsters Universe with this remake, a feat they’ve already attempted with Dracula: Untold back in 2014. Blessedly, they seem to be doing what so many of us have already done and just ignore that it ever happened. Anyway, Tom Cruise stars as Tom Cruise in a movie that pretty much sticks to the basic Tom Cruise formula. Exploding airplanes, machine guns, helicopters. It’s basically peak Tom Cruise. Only he’s dead? And there’s a mummy? And those things are related somehow? Also Russell Crowe plays Dr. Jekyll. So. There’s that. The Mummy opens June 9, 2017.

‘Luke Cage’ Confirms Second Season with Announcement Trailer

rsz_luke_cage

In a move shocking exactly zero people, Netflix officially announced the coming of Luke Cage season two with a brief announcement video yesterday. The generally well received third series in Netflix’s Marvel universe will probably have to wait sometime before making its debut, however. Early next year is the premiere of Iron Fist, followed by the crossover series The Defenders, which unites Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron First, and probably the Punisher, who is also (probably) getting a series of his own next year sometime. Then there’s season 3 of Daredevil and season 2 of Jessica Jones to contend with, both of which are looking at a release in 2018. Most likely, the cliffhanger from the first season of Luke Cage, which found the hero being taken to jail, will somehow be resolved in The Defenders, but no one really knows yet. Anyway, the announcement video is kinda cool. I mean, for a fifteen second teaser that shows and says exactly nothing.
