How To Dress Well remixes Sia, FKA twigs, and more on You and I Are the Same mixtape — listen

Published: November 26, 2014

Back in May, Tom Krell, a.k.a. How To Dress Well, shared NO WORDS TO SAY, a mixtape containing, among other goodies, a cover of Taking Back Sunday’s “You Know How I Do” and an “unofficial HTDW duet edit” of Angel Olsen’s “Windows”. Today, Krell has offered up yet another collection of reworkings with You and I Are the Same.

Spanning 53 minutes and a couple dozen tracks, You and I focuses primarily on reworks and edits of Krell’s favorite musical moments of 2014 and beyond. Standouts include an explosive, club-ready remix of Sia’s “Chandelier”, a “totally broken edit” of FKA twigs’ “2 Weeks”, a version of Majical Cloudz’s “This Is Magic” featuring Krell’s evocative harmonies, a lo-fi cover of Iris Dement’s “My Life”, and a warped edit of Rich Gang’s “Lifestyle”. Other edits include Phillip Glass, the Microphones, Default Genders, Akron/Family, and more. Stream the full tape below.
