Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne has reminded fans he’s still not down with Cash Money. The hip-hop star publicly saluted a concertgoer for donning an anti-Birdman shirt.
New footage has surfaced of Wayne tipping his hat off to a fan dissing his parent record label.
This week, a clip surfaced of Wayne ditching a concert after getting a drink thrown at him.
“I don’t know if you thought I was a buster but I’m rich. So I can’t throw nothing back. But watch this. Goon squad! Come here. Goon squad! I say every goon that’s with me come here, man. You see, you see.”
Recently, Wayne talked about joining forces with music mogul Jay Z‘s Roc Nation.
“Yeah, Jay is just a good guy man. He’s a good guy. It was nothing but a simple thing, just friend-to-friend, ‘I just want to help you.’ That’s all it was. ‘I just want to help you man. In any way I can.’ And right now he’s just going to help me in any way he can, and that’s just what it is. [Have I left Cash Money yet?] No, we haven’t done that yet. We’re still working on that situation. But like I said, Jay’s just a good guy and he wants to help me. He’s going to help me.”
A few days ago, Roc Nation Sports star Rudy Gay gave his reaction to Wayne joining the team.
“Yeah, I didn’t see that,” Gay said about Wayne declaring his allegiance to Roc Nation. “Oh wow, wow. That’s uh, that’s dope. Welcome to the company. Am I gonna hit him up for tickets? [laughs] I guess, I guess I can now, right? [Best rapper at Roc Nation?] Ah man, come on now, the boss [Jay Z]. The boss, man. The boss is still number one.” (TMZ Sports)
