Prairie Cat just released “Crib Talk” – his latest single – today. Co-produced by Ryan Dahle (Mother Mother, The New Pornographers, Hot Hot Heat), Is Cary Pratt is the fourth album from multi-instrumentalist, Cary Pratt. One Night Stand, Hook-Up, Tryst, Fling, A Road Gig, Hit it and Quit it, One-Off, A Wisconsin Wedding*… Whatever the kids are calling it these days, it was a mistake, and it’s in the past. You haven’t seen or even thought about her in like eight, maybe nine months.
Then, late one night, the “friend request” appears. You take a second to collect your thoughts as you scroll through her recent history of pictures.
“Crib Talk”, the new single by Prairie Cat, came about when a female friend remarked “It must be weird being a guy. Like, doesn’t it freak you out that you could possibly have kids out there that you don’t even know about?!” Well….now that you’ve mentioned it, and the more I think about it.

Prairie Cat is a multi-instrumentalist and innovative singer/songwriter based out of Vancouver. His new album *Is Cary Pratt *will be released on June 9th via Fully Logic Records and was recorded with Pratt’s long time co-producer Ryan Dahl. He has also recorded with a storm of Canadian sonic gold including Rich Aucoin, Said The Whale, Montag, Daniel Moir, and Sparrow. Live, his performances are quirky, vibrant and resonating.

The man is made out of music, excellent and captivating music at that. His solo project- Prairie Cat features Pratt exclusively weaving a rich sonic landscape alongside witty lyrics delivered harmoniously. Prairie Cat originated in 2007 as a vehicle for studio recording and sound design. His music combines elements of 70’s AM pop and jazz. His sound is contemporary yet timeless, wildly catchy and bursting with authenticity. The infrequent dichotomy of humor and heartbreak is consistent throughout his material reminiscent of Randy Newman and Stephan Malkmus (Pavement).
His three previous albums include the critically acclaimed Who Knows Where to Begin?, It Began/Ended with Sparks, Attacks! and the EP Got Nothin’, Each album offers a different tone paired well with the refined instrumentation and intuitive production. Who Knows Where to Begin? received heavy rotation on CBC, BBC, and Sirius XM. His fourth record Is Cary Pratt will be released in June 2017.
