(AllHipHop News) The most unpredictable award show of the year is returning this Sunday, August 30. The MTV Video Music Awards is known for producing water cooler moments such as the Michael Jackson/Lisa Marie Presley kiss, the Madonna/Britney Spears kiss, Taylor Swift getting “Kanye’d,” and the Miley Cyrus twerkfest.
This year’s show may or may not make pop culture history, by the cable channel has tapped some big names to hit the stage that night. Pharrell, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, A$AP Rocky, The Weeknd, and Tori Kelly are among the stars that were announced as performers.
Cyrus is set to host the event, and West will be receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Swift, Beyoncé, and Kendrick Lamar are among the leading nominees.
The 2015 MTV VMAs airs August 30 at 9 p.m. ET.
