NIFD dance performances 2014-15 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Oct 25, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
This is the fifth in a series of video dance compilations from performances by the Nashville International Folk Dancers, a recreational dance group in Nashville TN. For more information, our website is: NIFDdance.com. Here we feature dances from 3 performances in 2014-15. The first 5 dance excepts are from the 2014 Celebrate Nashville festival in front of the Parthenon in Nashville with music performed by Tantsova Grupa. The opening dances are: Fox Dance and Kapuveri Verbunk (both Hungarian), Kasapsko Oro (Macedonia), Godeski Cacak and Sarajevka Kolo (both Serbian). Further dances follow using recorded music from a Spring 2015 performance in Hopkinsville, KY, beginning with a complete rendition of Sedi Donka (Bulgaria), followed by exceprts from Ambee Dageets (Amrmenia), Somogyi Karikazo (Hungary), Brachno Oro (Albania), Arcanul Moldvai (Romania-complete dance), Avre Tu and Eretz Yisrael (both from Israel). The end of the Eretz Yisarel dance is taken from the final set of dances at the 2015 Celebrate Nashville festival, a performance which adds a few visiting dance friends from Nebraska and Kentucky, with a mixture of recorded music and accompaniment by Tansova Grupa. The 6 concluding dances are: Malenki Tanets (Ukraine), Sobotki (Poland)--both complete performances--Ali Ali (Lebanon), Karagouna (Greece) and the ending of Sedi Donka (Bulgaria-this time with the live band), and finally Mayim, Mayim (Israel). The last short tag shows one of our very youngest dancers doing a fancy closing step at our Tuesday night class.
