DESCRIPTION: This is 4 of 4 video dance compilations from performances by the Nashville International Folk Dancers, a recreational dance group in Nashville TN. For more information, our website is: NIFDdance.com. The dances begin with a 2010 outdoor performance at Lipscomb University in Nashville. The dances include: Hora de Mina (a line dance from Romania), followed by a Bulgarian couples/line dance, Jaap's Tropanka, and the beginning of Somagyi Karikazo (from Hungary, accompanied by Hungarian woman singers). From a later 2011 performance at the Celebration of Cultures at Cennential Park in Nashville, TN (joined by the Bowling Green KY dancers), we cut to the same dance, this time with live accompaniment by NIFD's music ensemble, Tansova Grupa. This is followed by excerpts from Vlashko Horo (from Bulgaria), Kalamata Kerchief (from Greece), Moosh/Sasoon (from Armenia) and a lively Gypsy dance called Ca la Mahala. The video ends with brief clips of Tansova Grupa playing Zimer Atik (from Israel) and an excerpt from the 2012 Celebration of Cultures with the group performing Vidinsko Oro for the dancers with a closing shot of the noontime parade of musicians and dancers.
