'Keep Your Stupid Dreams Alive' by 'The Prefab Messiahs' is the title track taken from the band's 8 song Maxi-EP, which was released on 10th March 2015 through 'Burger Records' and Boston's own 'Klyam Records'‎. The video was also filmed and directed by 'Plastic Mynd'.

THE PREFAB MESSIAHS BIO:

Purveyors of light-hearted garage rock revivalism, 'The Prefab Messiahs' formed back in 1981 in 'Worcester', 'Massachusetts'. Their early sounds have been compared with 'Television Personalities', 'Swell Maps', 'Josef K', 'White Fence', 'Thee Oh Sees', 'The Clean' and 'King Tuff'. The band is also associated with the 'Wormtown' punk/arts scene of the early 1980s.

The band's original line-up were together from 1981-1983, where core members 'Xerox Feinberg', 'Doc Michaud' and bass player 'Kris Thompson', all then students at 'Clark University', brought in a rotating line-up of area musicians to help play their ramshackle art-punk in area clubs. 'Billy Brahm', Egg Al' and 'Tony Serrato' were all considered official members at one time. During the band's early days they released only one cassette, 1983's 'Flex Your Mind', before temporarily disbanding that same year.

Nothing more was heard from the band until 15 years later when a selection of live recordings and demos were released by 'Desperately Happy'. The 1998 'Devolver' compilation contained over an hour of previously unreleased material, all recorded in the early '80s.

The band then reunited occasionally for special events, including the local 'Wormtown Anniversary Bash' in 1998, 2003, and 2008. Their 2008 appearance saw the Prefabs perform a combined set with 'Bobb Trimble'. Guest members in this franchise included 'Gary War (former member of Ariel Pink)' and 'Ned Egg'. Gary and Ned previously comprised the band 'Chas. Mtn'.

In early 2011, 'Almost Ready Records' (known for their 'The World's Lousy with Ideas' compilation series) issued a 7" single 'Franz Kafka/Prefab Sun'. Later that year in December 'Fixed Identity' released 'Peace Love & Alienation', which is a collection of eight archival Prefabs songs which were remastered by 'Jay Rajeck' (of TRS-80) and who has also worked with Ariel Pink's 'Haunted Graffiti'.

In June 2012, the band embarked upon on a four-date 30th Anniversary 'Reunion Micro-Tour' with Bobb Trimble's 'Flying Spiders', playing shows in 'New York' and 'Massachusetts'.

Inspired to give it another go, the trio added 'Ned Egg' to the line-up and, for the first time in three decades, hit the studio with new material in 2013. Meanwhile, Burger Records reissued 'Devolver' on cassette before partnering with 'Kylam Records' in March 2015 to release 'Keep Your Stupid Dreams Alive' an eight song Maxi-EP of garage/psych-pop. The EP peaked at #5 on the 'CMJ Top 200 Radio chart' and has been widely praised in the music press.
