Mama Cass was the lead singer of the group "The Mamas & The Papas".
She died of a heart attack at age 32 in 1974.
The urban (NOT true) legend was that she choked on a sandwich.
The truth is that she was on a crash diet where she had lost over 70 pounds very quickly, which stressed her heart and triggered the heart attack.
This is the original mono mix as heard when this was a huge hit on AM Top 40 radio on stations like WABC New York.
