Would you Rather be a Colonel ? 1918 Rischell Vertical Groove Record - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 14, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
Here is a rare 1918 Vertical Groove Record from the Rishell Phonograph Co. of Williamsport, PA. The Company first advertised in the trade publication "Talking Machine World" in Sept. of 1916 and offered a complete line of Phonographs. They later launched their own brand of vertical groove phonograph records (this particular series pressed by Okeh), around the WWI era in 1918. Their record venture was very short lived, thus the rarity of finding one of these vertical groove records, complete with record sleeve some 97 years later. This selection is "Would you rather be a Colonel with an eagle on your Shoulder or a Private with a chicken on his knee?" sung by Arthur Fields and composed by Mitchell & Gattler.
